²⁴ So they took him out of his chariot, put him in his other chariot and brought him to Jerusalem, where he died. He was buried in the tombs of his ancestors, and all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him.

²⁵ then kings who sit on David’s throne^(A) will come through the gates of this city with their officials. They and their officials will come riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by the men of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.^(B)

⁴ For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings^(A) who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people.
